While You're Here...

Pittsburgh and its various boroughs have some really unique and cool things to do, as well as some great restaurants, bars, and cafes. Here are some suggestions if you have free time.

NEIGHBORHOODS & PLACES

Row House Cinema

Sonia & Jim catch movies here regularly. With a taproom and an attached beer store, it's a place you can just drop in for a drink and/or catch a movie.

The Incline

For many years, Jim lived up in the Mt. Washington and rode the incline every day to work. Spectacular views and historical too!

The Frick

The Frick Museum is where Sonia & Jim met for their first date. Pittsburgh is known as a sports town, but the arts are alive and well in the 'burgh and there some wonderful galleries and museums here.

The Mattress Factory

The Warhol

Heinz History center

Fort Pitt Museum

RESTAURANTS

Apteka

This is Sonia & Jim's favorite restaurant right now for special occasions. The food is soooo good! Apteka serves central and eastern European cuisine and is 100% vegan.

The Forge

Get ready to lounge and enjoy some of the best craft cocktails in Pittsburgh. Sonia & Jim often begin our nights out with drinks and a bit of food here.

Dobra Tea

This was Sonia & Jim's second stop on their first date.

This Bohemian-style tearoom is something between a bar and a church. Over 100 teas from around the world.

Spak Brothers Pizza

Located in the Garfield neighborhood, Spak Brothers has a reputation of having some of the best Pizza around. Try their seitan wings. Carry out only! There are also some great galleries, stores, and cafe's in this neighborhood. So get some pizza and take a stroll.

The Butterwood Bake Consortium

Jim's mom loved to visit this place when she came to town. This cozy little desert cafe is decorated in the style of 1880's Austrian kaffeehauses and has some of the best cakes and coffee in Pittsburgh.
